Working with Andrew Maynard & Mark Austin to create a cultural integration point and destination for entrepreneurs

Convenory, Ongoing

Recognising the importance of economic and cultural connections as critical to Australia’s future prosperity in the Asia Pacific region, how might we design a meeting place and platform for exchange?

We understand connection to be as important as capital. Environment is a powerful driver of innovation, creativity, engagement and productivity for individuals and groups. We were inspired by the opportunity to deliver social, environmental and economic impact through the creation of spaces built to nurture and stimulate the whole person – and the relationships people cultivate.

Over a period of 5 years, we undertook a global listening exercise with founders, funders, cultural connectors and creative luminaries. Alongside this, we performed desktop research to understand Australian economic drivers and any prerequisites for impactful investment.

The culminating vision of the ‘Convenory’ is that the adaptive repurposing of an iconic local building will create a destination of international significance, attracting Melbourne’s leading cultural, culinary and creative industries.

Designed with human-thriving at heart – and housing the Convenory’s entrepreneur network – these entertainment and collaborative working facilities will become a lighthouse both for local creatives and for Australia’s diaspora of entrepreneurs.
